Meet Ektaa Prakash

Founder ~ Humanising Lives

Ektaa Prakash is the Founder and CEO of Humanising Lives, a rights-based mental health organisation built on the belief that healing should be simple, accessible, and deeply human.

 

With over 13 years of experience across India and global contexts, her work sits at the intersection of mental health, human rights, and system reform.

​

She has collaborated with institutions such as UNODC, the National Human Rights Commission, and government stakeholders, contributing to mental health advocacy, prison reform initiatives, and psychosocial support frameworks in complex and underserved settings.

 

Her work also includes leading trauma-informed mental health support initiatives for women in crisis-affected regions, including Afghanistan, as well as designing and implementing mental health and social impact programmes for foundations and community-led initiatives focused on vulnerable populations, prisons, and high-stress environments.

​

Ekta holds an LL.B. from ILS ( Pune) a leading Indian law school and an LL.M. in International Criminal Justice from Nottingham Law School (UK), bringing a systems-level understanding of trauma, justice, and human behaviour.

Her vision is to humanise both systems and people , especially in spaces where emotional care is often overlooked.Under her leadership, Humanising Lives has provided affordable and ethical therapy services to thousands of individuals, including students, women, LGBTQ+ communities, prison populations, and those navigating trauma, anxiety, emotional distress, and life transitions. She is particularly committed to making mental health support accessible in India through humanistic and existential therapy approaches.

For Ekta, therapy is not just a service , it is a social responsibility. Through Humanising Lives and its Affordable Therapy initiative, she continues to build emotionally safe, inclusive, and accountable mental health ecosystems rooted in dignity, compassion, and genuine psychological care.
